A plant to Pint philosophy

Gallatin Valley Malt Co. is a farmer-owned craft malthouse located in Manhattan, Montana. Long known as one of the state's great breadbaskets, the Gallatin Valley's fertile soils, clean water, high altitude, and dry, temperate climate allow us to produce the finest quality malts in Montana.

As farmers, we know the journey to making outstanding malt starts in the soil, but our commitment to creating a superior product doesn't stop there. To ensure first-class malts from our fields to your glass, we have a hand in the entire process. We select and grow only the best varieties of grain and use sustainable agricultural practices to conserve water and maintain healthy landscapes.

We combine this land ethic with tried-and-true malting practices to produce exceptional craft malts which embody the unique terroir of their locale from plant to pint. In turn, our malts provide a distinct character and sense of place in the beers and spirits they help create.
